Yes. SSDI began as BUDI Academy, the training arm of Bulaal Development Initiative (BUDI), founded in 2018, and has since become an independent, standalone institute carrying forward the same delivery record and standards.

SSDI teaches hard skills (bookkeeping, financial record-keeping, digital literacy, access-to-finance readiness, sector-specific technical skills) and soft skills (leadership, negotiation, communication, problem-solving) together in one sequenced pathway rather than as separate programs.
